Damask Wedding Cake

I'm super excited to show you all my latest cake creation.  I think this is one of my favorite cake I made so far.   

The bride wanted a damask pattern on the cake which I have never did before. She also showed me a picture of a cake from The Pastry Studio that she wants me to incorporate on the design and that is the middle tier with the "love" design.

It was my first time to use a stencil in a cake. I watch lots of tutorials on how to transfer stencils on cake just to make sure that I will make it right. The scroll design at the middle tier, I piped it using royal icing.

 

 

The bouquet of roses on top, I made it using gumpaste and fondant. Yes, they are edible. The only thing that's not edible in this cake was the blue satin ribbon.

This is the heaviest cake I made so far. I probably weighs at least 40lbs which is heavier than my daughter. Even my husband complained that it was too heavy when we delivered the cake last Friday. Ha!

 

I was very happy that the bride really liked it. Friday night she messaged me and told me that the cake was amazing. Yay! It really felt so overwhelming when people appreciate and love my works. It's just made my day! :)

{Cake} Jayhawk

I think this is the fifth time that I made a Jayhawk cake. The Kansas Jayhawks is a men's  basketball team of University of Kansas. This cake that I made last week was for a little boy who turned one and his parents are Jayhawk fans.
